About Me

Mark Glover was born in Frimley, Surrey, England on Tuesday the 10th of June 1986 AD, at about quarter past 4 in the afternoon (or so his mother claims), and grew up in the neighbouring town of Yateley. There he attended Yateley School and Sixth Form, leaving in June 2004 with 4 A Levels to his name. He then moved to Bristol, to take a Bachelor of Arts in Business and Law Joint Honours at the University of the West of England. In 2007 he switched his degree to General Honours in order to focus on the Business side of his studies at the expense of Law. He graduated with Honours in June 2009.

Mark is staying open minded about his eventual career path, but is hoping to continue working in either business, IT or both, as these are where his interests lie. Mark is a keen web designer, having built a number of personal sites (including this one), as well as being commissioned by several small businesses and public sector organisations to build small, dynamic, user friendly sites. He also has a wider interest in computers in general, which extends to building machines from scratch and providing extensive IT support to friends and family.

Mark's other hobbies include music (listening and playing), reading, theatre (watching, he can't act), comedy (watching again, he isn't very funny), travelling, cooking, photography, eating out and drinking as much coffee as he can get his hands on.

Mark is currently unemployed and seeking work in the IT industry (Contact Me if you are recruiting in this area) but recently earned a living as a an Administrative Support Assistant turned I.T. Troubleshooter for data2impact Ltd, based in Andover, Hampshire, where he was from late March 2009 until September 2009. He is now living in Plymouth, Devon with his girlfriend, who is currently studying at the University of Plymouth, and he is hoping to find a new job in this area.

In the past he has worked as a bar tender at his university, a life guard and a supermarket shelf stacker.

As a keen blogger since 2004, Mark spends much of his time writing for his current blog, which has its own dedicated readership. He also visits the blogs of many other people he finds interesting. His first blog, which he kept from May 2004 to September 2006, can be found here

As mentioned above, Mark built this site himself. He did it using Windows Notepad and a growing knowledge of PHP, CSS, JavaScript, XML and HTML. He did not take advantage of any pre-existing Content Management Systems, as he feels that that is cheating. If you are interested, you can find details of his other web design projects here.

Mark always likes to hear from visitors to his site. If you wish to contact him, you may find this page useful.
